Verum charu - Just Gravy


As its name says this is just gravy without anything in it.


Dried chillies 5
Coriander seeds 2 tablespoons
Jeera ½ teaspoon
Black pepper 2 teaspoon
Turmeric powder ½ teaspoon
Onions 1 large
Curry leaves 10
Gingelly oil 2 tablespoon
Tamarind paste1 teaspoon
Coconut milk 1 cup
Salt to taste


Grind the first four items, to a fine paste with very little water.

Now add the onions and curry leaves and turmeric powder and continue to grind to a paste.

In a pan, add gingelly oil and heat in low heat.

Now add this paste along with the tamarind paste, salt and coconut milk and bring to boil without covering the pan.

When well boiled add garnish and remove from fire.

Allow to rest for 20 minutes.
