Rice Dishes- 

Plain Rice 


Plain rice is the main component of a meal in every home and is usual to be eaten with curries and any other suitable accompaniments. Normally people cook the parboiled country rice in Yarlpanam but other varieties are also used. We give below a method to cook red parboiled rice and please adopt this method for any other rice you may want to cook.

Ingredients:

Parboiled rice 2 cups
Water 4 cups

Method:

Absorption method:
In a cooking pan, boil the water.
Wash rice well and drain.
When water has boiled, put the rice in the boiling water, cover and cook in low heat until all the water has been absorbed.
