                                               Sesame seed balls

 

Ingredients

White sesame seeds 1 cup
Jaggery 1 ½ cups
Ghee 1 tablespoons
Water

Method:

White sesame seeds are cleaned skinned sesame seeds.

Fry sesame seeds in a hot pan with ghee until golden.

Scrape jaggery and boil in water to form syrup and remove from fire.

Add all the fried sesame seeds to the jaggery syrup and sir and mix well.

It should be of fairly thick consistency.

Make balls of about 2 cm diameter in size.

Allow to cool.

The sesame seed balls should be firm and fairly hard if well done.

Variation:

1) Spread the mixture on a flat plate into a thin sheet and let it cool. As this cools cut into small rectangular pieces.

2) You can make this with roasted peanut halves and you spread this into a thicker sheet. Cut into square pieces.
