About Us 

We are a group of people from Yarlpanam (Jaffna) now living abroad and having a common interest in cooking the food of Yarlpanam. We love to create the real taste of the cuisine and savour it just as we did when we were growing up, when we were cared for by our mothers and grandmothers. Even now, we can still remember how we relished those flavours.

Our ambition is to give to our future generations, and others who are passionate about food, the chance to experience the rich cuisine of our heritage. These recipes were handed down from the mothers and grandmothers by word of mouth but now our vision is to document these recipes and hand them down to the future generations.

Therefore we have put together the recipes writing them down as and when we cook them, and compiled them on this website.

யாழ்ப்பாணத்திலிருந்து வந்து வெளிநாடுகளில் வாழும் நாம், யாழ்ப்பாண சாப்பாடு சமைப்பதை ஒரு பொதுக்குறிக்கோளாய் கொண்டவர்களான ஒரு குழு. நாம் நமது வழர்சியடையும் பராயத்தில் தாய், பேத்தியார் நமக்கு தந்த உணவு போல் திரும்பவும் சமைக்க ஆசைப்படுகிறோம். இந்த உணவுகளின் வாசனையும் உரிசியும் இப்பவும் நமது மனதில் ஊசல் ஆடிக்கொண்டு இருக்கிறது.

எங்கள் பிற்கால சந்ததியாருக்கும் உணவில் அதிக பற்றுடையவர்களுக்கும் எமது சந்த்தியாரின் ஆடம்பரமான உணவை உண்ண வாய்பு அளிப்பதே நமது இலட்சியமாகும். இந்த சமையல் சாப்பாட்டு முறைகளை நமது மூதாதையார் நமக்கு வாய் வளியாக சொல்லிக்கொடுத்தார்கள்.

இப்பொழுது அவற்றை எழுத்து உருவத்தில் அமைத்து நமது சந்ததியாருக்கு அளிக்க விரும்பி, நாம் சமையல் செய்யும் போது, தமக்கு தெரிந்த சமையல் முறைகளை எழுதி வைத்திருக்கிறோம். இப்பொழுது அவற்றை ஒன்று திரட்டி இந்த இணையத்தளத்தில் தருகிறோம்.
