Bitter Gourd Curry
Bitter gourd 200 Gms
Onions 1 medium
Curry powder 2 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Milk 1 cup
Tamarind paste 1 teaspoon
Cut the bitter gourd into two lengthwise, remove the seeds and cut into small pieces. Wash and drain.
In a pan, add the bitter gourd pieces, diced onions, Curry powder and 1 cup water and bring to boil.
Cook until the bitter gourd pieces are cooked and soft.
Now add the salt and tamarind paste and bring to boil.
Add the milk and simmer.
Some people, who do not like the bitter taste, soak the bitter gourd in coconut water for ½ hour and cook in it initially with onions and curry powder.
Garnish at the end.
Variation: You can add clean prawns at the start and cook with the bitter gourd pieces.
